COURSE TITLE

Advanced Issues in Workers’ Compensation

2009 Summer Institute
July 28, 2009, Oakland, CA

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Advanced Issues in Workers’ Compensation explores the more complex issues and trends currently seen in the California workers’ compensation system. Hear about emerging trends in workers’ compensation policy and regulation directly from the Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC). Learn how workers’ comp reform will impact UR, PD, MPNs, etc. in surprising ways. Our expert faculty will explain how chronic pain is impacting medical treatment and disability and what might be done about it. Case studies will illuminate current hot topics and help define the perspectives and goals of the physician, the applicant attorney, and the DWC through discussion and group participation.

This program is geared to the beginner and complements and expands upon Monday’s class Workers’ Comp 101, but will also fascinate the seasoned OEH or workers’ compensation professional.
