New Exposure Assessment Methods in Ergonomics

July 10 - 11, 2017, 8 AM - 5 PM

Richmond Field Station, Conference Room 445

FEE $475

The UC Ergonomics Research & Graduate Training Program, the UC Center for Occupational and Environmental Health, the Bay Area HFES Chapter and the San Francisco ASSE present a 2-day course

on the latest updates, techniques and tools to assess physical exposures in the workplace. Over the

past few years, advancements in technology and well known and risk assessment tools have evolved

and allow for more precise exposure assessment and interpretation. This course includes seminars

and hands-on workshops for participants to learn about these new technologies and approaches to

measuring physical exposure and assessing risk for musculoskeletal disorders.

  • Understand and apply the following exposure and risk assessment tools: Strain Index, Fatigue Predicting tools (MAE, ACGIH UE Fatigue TLV, NIOSH Lifting Equation).
  • Select appropriate measurement tools for ergonomic assessment
  • Interpret and apply up-to-date assessment techniques
