SUMMER INSTITUTE

COEH-CE hosts an annual Summer Institute for occupational and environmental health professionals. 2017 will be the 30th Summer Institute held by COEH at the State Building in downtown Oakland.

 

The Summer Institute brings faculty speakers from UC campuses, as well as topic experts from state government, and from private industry to collaborate at this leading occupational and environmental health event.

 

Prior courses cover a wide range of topics from Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene to Understanding and Promoting the Health and Safety Needs of the Aging Worker.

 

Courses provide continuing education credits to physicians, industrial hygienists, nurses and allied health professionals.

Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene

August 15-18, 2017, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

$200 per day - early bird fee

$225 per day - after July 1st

 

This 4-day course provides an overview of key

principles of industrial hygiene.

 

Participants completing this course will:

  • Learn from experts who are full-time practitioners and consultants.
  • Become familiar with the formulas basic to the field.
  • Participate in group case study exercises that parallel actual job experiences of the industrial hygienist.
  • Receive valuable reference and resource information.

 

Accreditation

Fundamentals of Workplace Safety

This 2-day course provides an overview of

important workplace safety principles.

 

Participants completing this course will:

  • Review basic safety and construction safety principles.
  • Understand safety audits, inspection techniques, and documentation.
  • Discuss and conduct a job safety analysis.
  • Discuss material handling and back injury prevention.
